This tall handcrafted tall goblet is crafted from spalted maple, a timber prized for its dramatic grain and naturally occurring contrasts. The wood shows warm caramel tones, light and dark streaking, and distinctive spalting lines that make the entire piece visually rich from every angle.
 
Standing at 28 cm, the goblet has a strong sculptural presence. The layered base - shaped from the same piece of timber - retains areas of live edge and natural texture, giving the form an organic weight and grounding it in its woodland origin. The stem features three precisely turned rings, while the bowl is smooth and gently curved to highlight the variation within the maple.
 
Natural cracks and character marks have been stabilised and left visible, adding to the authenticity of the piece rather than hiding its history. The goblet is finished with a light oil that enhances the colour, protects the surface, and brings out the subtleties in the grain.
